Why Small Groups Make for Big Adventures

At Dust Trails Africa, we limit our expeditions to just five riders. We believe that massive convoys and crowded trails detract from the experience. By keeping our groups small, we ensure that you aren’t just a face in the dust—you are an active participant in a tailored adventure.

At Dust Trails Africa, we believe in small groups. That’s why we limit our tours to just five riders. We don’t like crowded convoys, pressure to keep up, and being lost in the dust.  Instead, with us, every ride is tailored to your skills, your pace, and your hunger for adventure.

With a small group, your guide has the time to coach each rider individually,as time allows, helping you tackle tricky sections, grow your confidence, and get the absolute most out of every pass, river crossing, and rocky climb.

Small groups allow us to customise each tour based on the riders we have with us.

Want more technical challenges? We can build them in. Need a gentler day to recover? We adjust. You’re not just another number in a big group but  on an adventure designed just for you. Its small, its personal, its exclusive.

Keeping our groups small is also about something bigger: respect for the wilderness and the communities we encounter. We love these wild places, the remote passes, the high plateaus, the endless valleys and we believe they deserve to stay wild. A smaller group creates less dust, less noise, and less impact on the trails and villages we pass through. It means when we stop, we meet people, not overwhelm them. It means we can tread lightly, preserving the magic of these places for those who come after us.

And let’s be honest, riding in a small group is just better. It means stronger bonds. It means shared moments that feel real, not staged. It means you’ll be looked after properly, and your safety and experience will always come first.

This isn’t mass tourism. This is exclusive adventure
Real riding. Real connection. Real memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
